Set on the serene banks of the Kerala backwaters near Kochi, the Aral Residence is more than a house—it is a harmonious synthesis of past and future. Our design challenge was to create a luxurious sanctuary that respects the rich architectural heritage of the region while embracing the daring spirit of contemporary living.
The interiors serve as tranquil, breathable sanctuaries. Traditional high ceilings and large openings optimize natural light and airflow, reflecting Kerala's climate wisdom. Modernly drives through open plans and unclad, minimalist furniture using local materials—teak, laterite, and bamboo—ground the design in its lush backwater vistas.
